About the event
Creole jazz concert
AKODA is a Bordeaux trio led by Reunion pianist and singer Valérie Chane Tef, with Franck Leymerégie on the percussion set and Benjamin Pellier on bass. These three accomplices have been refining their sound for a decade, enthusiastically taking us on ballads
Creoles who make up their identity and their contagious joie de vivre. A first album Muzik Pou Lo Kèr released in 2019 marks the start of great media recognition and their collaboration with the label Aztec Musique and Pias distribution. AKODA would like to take this opportunity to offer the first of this new album to the Reunion public during a tour in October 2018 on Valérie's native island. The trio performs in France and abroad, in many prestigious venues such as the musical scene, the Rocher de Palmer, the Théâtre du Châtelet and festivals such as Musiques métisses, Eclats d'Email, Jazz entre les deux tours , and Martinique Jazz festival. In 2022 AKODA confirms its identity with a powerful, visceral and immediate second opus "Nout'Souk". Vocals in the lead, it sings Reunionese, Guadeloupean, Martinican or an invented language, it is a living tradition that the group reinvents and transmits to us with its jazz signature: beating hearts, dancing bodies, present emotions.
